In the Lifestyle Lounge with Lulijeta Imetovska

 

Welcome to the Lifestyle Lounge, a section of the Macedonia Welcome Center Magazine that aspires to deconstruct and research the concept of  “lifestyle”. With the help of health, beauty and fashion experts, we will endeavor to find the keys to achieving a healthy and rewarding lifestyle. Today we are showcasing Lulijeta Imetovska, who holds a Bachelor of Physical Education degree, a European Masters of Health and Physical Activity degree, and is a fitness and health educator, personal trainer and international fitness competition judge. Her life passions are horseback riding, traveling, and exploring nature. Following are Lulijeta’s personal and professional experiences on how to create a healthy lifestyle. Traveling is an essential part of what it means to have a gratifying lifestyle so, Lulijeta reveals her favorite place she has visited in Macedonia.

 

1. What does the concept LIFESTYLE mean to you?

Healthy habits, professional engagement and taking the time to relax in the evenings and grooming the relationships with the loved ones. Lifestyle is often associated with financial status and this may have a forceful impact on ones way of life, but achieving a calm spirit and happiness is equally important if not more important than becoming financially wealthy. I believe that a healthy lifestyle can only be attained if one practices the things that make him or her happy.

2. Do you aspire to involve your life passions into your daily routine and do you believe this furthers an authentic lifestyle?

I use all free time to engage in my life passions. I feel it is very important to consciously make the time for hobbies as this furthers a healthy lifestyle. For me, a healthy lifestyle produces authenticity and happiness. Being true to yourself is one of the highest life achievements.

3. Where do you look for inspiration and motivation in achieving your lifestyle goals?

I am very grateful that I am in a profession that I truly enjoy. I get to draw inspiration from my work every day. I love that! I am lucky that professionally I engage with wonderful people and children every day and they inspire me to do my job on the highest level. Coming back from work, I am totally ready to enjoy the second part of my day and do the things that I enjoy.

4. What do you consider to be a healthy and gratifying lifestyle and what is your advice on creating and sustaining it?

Unfortunately we live in times where money is an absolute necessity for achieving a decent lifestyle however; I strongly believe that it is well worth the effort that one takes the time to find their passion in life and to turn it into a profession for income. It’s a long and windy road, but it’s one worth traveling. If one finds this magical combination, spiritual wellness on a daily basis is absolutely possible. Then, physical exercise will complete the picture of a healthy and gratifying lifestyle. On a more practical note, I recommend 45-60 minutes of daily physical activity in any shape or form, such as walking with a friend, gardening, light jogging, light climbing, biking. For more advanced levels of fitness, I recommend taking exercise classes with a professional trainer.

 

“SPIRITUAL WELLNESS ON A DAILY BASIS IS ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE”

 

Another good physical activity is engaging in a team or individual sport. Of course, a healthy nutritious diet is of cardinal importance to a healthy lifestyle. Physical activity and sustainable fitness levels are habits that can be developed at every age. One has to be patient and the habits will eventually form, and from then on exercise and fitness activities become fun and essential. In my opinion, developing healthy habits is the key to a healthy lifestyle as it produces precious energy and motivation to deal with your daily chores and professional engagements. Becoming physically fit does not require big expenses, one can do healthy exercises on a daily basis with no money expenses at all: no excuses! Finding the correct goal is key. I recommend focusing on real goals that are attainable in order to avoid disappointments on the way to creating a healthy lifestyle.

5. Living in Macedonia is distinct and exciting. Please share your impressions of your favored places you have visited.

My favorite places that I have visited in Macedonia are : Mavrovo, and Pelister which are perfect for winter and summer outdoor sports, Matka for hiking and having a good lunch in one of the several restaurants which offer delicious food. I like to work hard but to also balance it with enjoying life over a nice dinner and company with friends and family.

Berovo is unique and with its’ pristine nature it is truly a wonderful place to spend a day! Hiking around Berovo is interesting as one may visit several surrounding villages by foot. Ohrid offers hiking, swimming in the summer, site seeing and the best trout in the region.
